A Historical View
Over the past 400,000 years (according to EarthWatch.Com), the Earth has seen fluctuations in its temperature…but nothing that isn’t normal. These changes in the temperature range from increasing amounts of CO2 to the decrease of CO2 but the increase of Methane into the atmosphere. It has been found that Methane is 26 times more potent to the atmosphere, as a greenhouse gas, then CO2 is. Again, a greenhouse gas is one that allows sunlight and energy in but doesn’t let the unabsorbed energy to escape (Wikipedia.Org, 2008).
